The Corcoran with George

George and I went to the John Singer Sargeant exhibit at the Corcoran Museum of Art. This exhibit focused on Sargeant's seascapes.

After viewing the exhibit, we went to Potbelly's for lunch. He had a sandwich and I had a veggie salad.

George warily enters Potbelly. It is not exactly his cup of tea.

Obama, of course, lives only a block away from this Potbelly. He has probably been here.

Founding Farmers

Chris, Denny, and Kay - a mini-mini Washburn High School '59 class reunion

We had a fantastic dinner at the Founding Farmers restaurant in Washington, DC near the GWU campus.

We began our meal with flatbread and corn bread.

Flatbread with brie, onion jam, and

the best cornbread anywhere in the world!

Kay had X, mashed potatoes, and French green beans.

Denny had salmon, mashed potatoes, and French green beans.

Chris had a "nice little salad" - a Farmer's Salad with greens, olives, parmesan cheese, croutons, and lots of dates.

It was Denny's birthday. Here he is blowing out the candle on his delicious Apple Crisp dessert.

Christmas Revels: Italian Renaissance

Christian enjoyed going to the theater with the Amici Italiani di Fairfax Meet-Up.

It was a wonderful program with music and dance from the Italian Renaissance. Lucio and his wife enjoyed it.

Library of Congress

Rick, Carla, Marilyn, Christine, Burt

My Sons of Norway Genealogy Interest Group went to the Library of Congress. We met in front of the Madison Building.

We went inside to register for our Reader cards.

Then we went to the Jefferson Building for a session with a researcher in the Genealogy Reference Room. The session was tailor-made for us and dealt with Norwegian genealogy.

The Library of Congress is across the street from the US Capitol.
