O'Keeffe at the Phillips; Bistro Du Coin

George and I met at the Phillips Collection this morning and toured the fantastic exhibit of O'Keeffe's abstract art.

We then went to the Bistro du Coin for a delicious lunch of quiche with goat cheese and spinach.

Valentine's Day at Busboys and Poets

Andrea, Christine, and Cire'

I love going to Busboys and Poets, either in the District or in Shirlington. I don't know how I did it but I convinced Andrea to take me there to celebrate Valentine's Day. It is not his cup of tea. He doesn't find much on the menu to his liking. (A menu with no pasta disturbs him enormously.)

It is definitely my kind of menu. I had Moroccan lentil soup and a delicious sandwich with brie, fig jam, and slices of Fuji apple. Yum! And I love the atmosphere. The customers represent diversity, and you just know that most of them would agree with you on the important political issues! The restaurant has a small book shop, and I would like to have most of these books in my private collection. The majority of the books reflect crucial social issues.
