Birthday Lunch

My favorite Towne cousin Karen and her husband Stan were in town and we met at the National Portrait Gallery. We saw several exhibits including a room of portraits of Babe Ruth. 

Then we had lunch at one of my favorite DC restaurants, Proof, right across the street from the Portrait Gallery.

Our server treated us to a very special wine.

It was great seeing my cousin and her husband. I hope to get out to San Francisco to visit them this year or next.

A Vegetarian's Dream

When my friend Geri suggested we meet for lunch at Beefsteak, I had my doubts. Me? A vegetarian? Beefsteak? Well, it turned out to be a vegetarian's paradise! Great food and great conversation!
