Tea and Dumplings in Georgetown
My friend Gertraud and I had lunch today at the wonderful little tea room in Georgetown, Ching Ching Cha.
We, of course, chose our tea first. She chose orange blossom and I chose passion fruit. We were both very satisfied with our selections.
Then she chose chicken dumplings and a marble egg. I chose vegetable dumplings. For dessert she had almond cookies and I had a little sweet made of sesame paste.
Corcoran Gallery of Art: Richard Avedon
My friend George and I went to the Corcoran yesterday to view the Richard Avedon Exhibit, Portraits of Power. It was extraordinary! We saw 50 years of history, particularly American political history, in this exhibit. What outstanding photographic portraits! I was very impressed and hope to return to this exhibit. It will be in town until January 25, 2009.

Barack Obama, President-Elect
I voted in an historic election and, I am very happy to say, I voted for the winner! And I am very happy to say my state also voted for the winner. Yes, Virginia is now a blue state!
Hedda Gabler
My friend Mary and I went to a marvelous student production of Ibsen's famous play Hedda Gabler at GW. The student actors did a superb job, especially those in lead roles.
