What a perfect location for a concert! This beautiful hall on the ground floor of the magnificent Union Station! I attended a concert in honor of Arturo Toscanini with Ruth and Alex Squadrini.
This blog is the story of my life with family and friends in DC and sometimes beyond.

St. Patrick's Day
George, John O, May, and I attended the St. Patrick's Day mass at St. Patrick's in the District. After the service we watched the Irish Dancers.
We then went to Tosca's for lunch - delicious (but quite pricey!).

Evening with Mary
Mary and I went to a special evening at the National Gallery of Art. The museum was open after hours with pop-up talks of selected individual paintings, jazz music, and snacks. Very nice!

Daughters
A wonderful meeting at Le Pain Quotidien. Those in attendance were Nancy B., Sonia O, and Kim O.
For me the young women are living links to two of my dearest friends, Toni and Denny, who are no longer with us. Toni and Denny both left wonderful legacies, daughters who are very special women.

LILAC Ladies
Janet led the tour and May and I enjoyed our outing to National Harbor very much.
A wonderful lunch -
and then a tour of Gaylord - quite impressive!
We are looking forward to the next outing of the LILAC Ladies. (I can never remember what LILAC stands for. Stay tuned!)

A Fantastic Visit to Richmond
Marie, Barbara M, and I drove down to Richmond to see the marvelous Munch-Jaspers exhibit at the Virginia Museum. What made the trip truly special for me was seeing my old friend Ron again and meeting for the first time his special friend Susan and the Norwegian American film writer and producer Kirk Kjeldsen.
We all met at the museum. Here are some of the works that highlighted the influence Munch exerted on Jaspers.

We had a wonderfully stimulating conversation after the visit to the museum while we enjoyed our lunch in the museum cafeteria. It was a magical time with everyone there just clicking. Incredible harmony!
